+) She has an incredible vocal range, being able to reach both high and low notes comfortably and with solid technique.
+) In addition to being able to sing, rapping also comes naturally to her. She's not very experienced with it however.
+) Jihyo is very natural on camera and has modeled under Y.M. during her trainee days.

-) While dancing, she has really low confidence. She's a decent dancer however, it's evident that she's not comfortable.
-) Acting is not her strong suit -she has a tendency to stumble over words and look absolutely emotionless when acting.
-) She really wants to be able to write songs but she's very bad at writing lyrics. They go something like this "Come to me honey, I want your money, i'm not being funny, listen to me sonny" etc etc . Basically, she's really bad.

Kim Jihyo is a very hardworking individual, pushing herself to her limits and beyond to achieve her goals. In addition to this, she's incredibly organized, always staying on top of her schedule. However, she expects everyone else to be the same way and is very demanding, expecting others to practice singing/rapping/dancing as much as she does and to be as organized as her. Nothing is ever good enough for her, with her picky nature, and she will never be satisfied with what you offer her as there is always something better. She's never afraid to tell you what you're doing wrong and can be quite insensitive when interacting with other trainees/idols. The good side of this is that she's very honest and will never lie to you. Despite her bluntness and pickiness, she is still well liked by most, due to her charismatic side, which is very well-received in fan meets and variety shows. She appears charismatic and confident but is secretly very insecure about her looks and her talents, even though she has modeled and has been training for so long. 

_{Born in Seongnam to a middle class family, Kim Jihyo had a relatively normal childhood, studying hard and taking care of her little brother who was born three years after her. She was a bright child and sailed through school with ease. With the lack of worry of having bad grades, she had room to explore hobbies and other things that interested her. Jihyo tried many different activities such as sports, piano, cooking, and ballet but nothing seemed to spark her interest. Every time, she would just get bored within the first few weeks and quit. Nothing was interesting or good enough for her. 
Her uncle lived in the heart of Seoul and every few months, Jihyo and her family would go visit him and his children and stay with him a couple days. When she was eight, a famous korean girl group had performed there a couple of days before one of her visits. Her eldest cousin, who was a couple of years older than Jihyo, had gone to one of the concerts and recorded it on her videocamera. Trying to show off to Jihyo, she showed it to her and boasted that one day, she would be famous like one of those girls. To prove her point, she insisted that she teach Jihyo her "skills" in singing and dancing. They spent that afternoon pretending to be idols, dressing up in "cool" outfits, learning the dance, and practiced it while singing the song that the girl group had sang. Hearing Jihyo sing from downstairs, her parents recognized that she had a good voice and put her in vocal lessons immediately.
Unlike the other activities Jihyo had tried out previously, she fell in love with singing and aspired to become an idol. At the age of 14, she auditioned for Moon Entertainment and became a trainee there for four years. Despite her talents in singing, she was uncomfortable dancing and had trouble with it. When she became 18, she was in the line up to be in Moon Entertainment's new girl group. Jihyo had worked extremely hard for this and after 4 years of hard work, she had finally made it onto the final lineup. However, at the last second, the CEO of Moon Entertainment decided to cut a member and due to her lack of confidence when dancing, Jihyo was cut. 
Working so hard for so long and being so close to her dream just to have it pulled away from her was devastating and Jihyo decided that she would stop pursuing being an idol. She was already 18 and there were younger, fresher faces taking up the CEO's attention. Although there was still a chance she could be in the next girl group, it wasn't set to debut for another few years. When the time came to renew her contract with Moon Ent. , she chose to walk away and turned her focus to academics, hoping that it wasn't too late to pursue a more common career, such as medicine or law.
She caught up with her schoolwork easily and chose to pursue law, something she had little interest in but would hopefully give her a stable, well-paying job. Even though she threw herself into her studies, she sorely missed being part of the entertainment industry and it was evident to her friends and family that she wasn't happy without singing and dancing. In an effort to alleviate her longing, Jihyo's friends convinced her to take weekly hiphop dance classes with them. They were casual and there was no obligation to go each week but the pressure-free environment paired with the familiarity of dancing from her trainee days brought her back each week. She was no longer dancing to compete with other trainees but just to have fun.
2-3 years later, she was studying in college in Seoul and on her way to a successful law career. On Friday nights, she would go out with friends for karaoke and they would always comment on her amazing singing abilities. One of those nights, she went there for one of her friend's boyfriend's birthday party. His father, who was there to ensure his son didn't make a fool out of himself, turned out to be Y.M. scout. After the party, he invited her to audition, hearing her clear talent. The scout didn't seem to mind that she was nearly 21, countering that with the fact that they already had a group idea that would debut within the next two years. Seeing that Jihyo was still unsure, he just asked her to audition, saying that she could always just walk away after.
After impressing the judges with her singing talent and also with her dance skills she had improved on with the help of the the weekly dance classes, she was offered a place in the upcoming group, with the condition that she further trained for 2 years under them until the group debuted. Since she had already been a trainee and was already at a high level, she was told that she could undergo minimal training so she could continue her law studies on the side if it didn't work out. It would be hard to juggle the two but after thinking a lot, she came to the decision of accepting their offer. There she trained and even modeled a little under Y.M for smaller magazines. Two years down the line, the group was ready to debut and she, with another trainee, was offered the position of co-leader.}

-She dyed her hair blonde when she was about to debut for Moon's new girl group but after she got cut from it, she kept the blonde hair because she liked it.
-Jihyo has never dated anyone as she was always busy with either singing/dancing or studying.
- She will insist on the bed next to window as her turtle tank needs to get sunlight. She's still fighting Yoon Mina on being able to keep the turtle in her dorm.
- She pours her milk before her cereal and if you object to it she will actually fight you no joke
- She's that girl who angry texts everyone when she's drunk
